Caroleene Dobson, the Republican nominee for the 2nd Congressional District, released a statement announcing the formation of a 345-member “Women for Dobson” group that includes community leaders and local activists.
In a statement released by the campaign, Ronda Walker, a Montgomery County commissioner, said Dobson represents pro-family values needed in Congress.
“She listens to the concerns of women and knows how important it is to have someone in Washington who stands up for our families, our faith, and our future,” she wrote in the release.

Dobson said in a statement that she believes the support is essential to her victory.
“The fact that these very busy women are willing to devote their time, energies, and efforts to help my candidacy is humbling,” Dobson wrote. “By working together, we can fix the broken system in D.C., prioritize the issues that truly matter to the residents of the Second Congressional District, and bring better days ahead for all Americans.”
Both Dobson and Democratic nominee Shomari Figures have been focusing on women as their campaigns near an end.
Dobson last Friday held an event at a Montgomery children’s store, where she focused the discussion on IVF access, saying that she would support Sen. Katie Britt’s proposal for IVF protection in states.
Figures on Thursday pledged to protect reproductive rights in Congress and expand access to maternal care in the district. On Sunday, a “Women for Figures” panel that included U.S. Reps. Terri Sewell, D-Birmingham, and Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, focused on women’s issues.
