Want to vote in the Arizona primary election? You need to be registered by July 1.

Arizona’s primary election is fast approaching and Arizonans who want to vote in it need to be registered by July 1 in order to be eligible to vote for their preferred candidates. 

To vote in the July 30 primary election, voters need to be registered by Monday either by mail, online or in-person. Arizona’s voter registration deadline by law is 29 days prior to an election, making July 1 the deadline for voters who are not already registered to vote. 

Voters have options in regards to how they can register. Arizona residents can register online through ServiceArizona.com or with the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office online, in-person or by mail. 

Voters can also register through their local county recorder’s office. Voters who are eligible for the Address Confidentiality Program are encouraged to reach out to the program directly via the Secretary of State’s Office. 

If you are unsure about your voter registration status, you can search for it online, call 1-877-THE-VOTE or contact your local county recorder. 

To be able to register to vote in Arizona, you must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of Arizona and the county listed on your registration and be 18 years of age on or before the day of the next regular general election. 

Those who have been convicted of a felony and have not had their civil rights restored or who have been found to be incapacitated by a court of law are ineligible to register to vote. 

If you decide to register by mail, it must be postmarked 29 days prior to the election you are registering to vote in and mailed to the Secretary of State’s Office or your local County Recorder. 

Early ballots for the State Primary will be mailed out on July 3. Voting in-person in Arizona requires a photo ID. 

Arizona voters with disabilities can get help registering and casting their ballot from their local recorder’s office or groups like Disability Rights Arizona who operate a hotline for voter help on election days. The line is operated from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election days and can be reached at 602-274-6287 or 1-800-927-2260.People without permanent housing are also still eligible to register to vote.
