Republican Sam Brown failed to oust Democrat Jacky Rosen from her U.S. Senate seat last year, but he is poised to secure a job in the federal government.

Donald Trump last week announced that he is naming Brown to be Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs. If confirmed by the Senate, Brown will be in charge of administering national cemeteries.

In a statement on social media Brown, an Army Captain who suffered severe burns while serving in Afghanistan, said he will look to “ensure all who have served are honored with the dignity they have earned.”
