Passengers traveling through Arkansas’ largest airport continued to experience canceled and delayed flights on Monday, three days after a technology outage affected businesses around the world.

Tech outage affects Arkansas’ largest airport, state servers

Since Friday, 27 flights have been canceled and 100 have been delayed at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, spokesperson Shane Carter said Monday afternoon.

The outage was caused by a faulty software update to Microsoft Windows users. CrowdStrike, the company behind the outage, issued a statement Friday that said the outage for Microsoft Windows users was not a cyberattack and that its staff understands the “gravity of the situation and are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and disruption.”

Its website now offers solutions for a variety of services.

The outage caused issues at a number of Arkansas institutions on Friday. The severity of the issues varied from a delay in services for customers banking with Arvest, to at least 100 state servers that went down at the state Department of Education.

Operations at the Little Rock airport have continued as usual, and the issues with flights are because the outage affected airline computer equipment, Carter said. Airlines are responsible for distributing refunds.
