More than 20 hours after election day polls closed in Pennsylvania, the race for the 10th Congressional District is still too close to call.
The district is currently represented by Republican Scott Perry who is being challenged by Democrat Janelle Stelson, a former local TV news anchor.
Perry is currently leading the race at 50.8% of the vote count compared to Stelson’s 49.2%, according to the Associated Press. Around 99% of votes have already been counted.
The AP only calls races when it is confident there is no path to victory for the losing candidate.
Still, some election result websites, such as Decision Desk HQ, have already called the race in favor of Perry. Neither campaign has released a statement on the results yet.
At his watch party Tuesday, Perry expressed gratitude and assured supporters that a result would come soon despite the delay.
“Keep your spirits positive,” he said. “Sun’s going to come up tomorrow.”
He said they should expect a victory in his race and the presidency soon. The presidential race was called at around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in favor of Donald Trump.
Stelson gave similar remarks at her watch party.
“I am so extraordinarily grateful, and I want to come down and thank all of you personally, but we may not have full answers tonight,” she said.
The 10th District is one of three Pennsylvania Congressional races that have not been called. The other two are the 7th and 8th, though incumbent Reps. Susan Wild (D-7th) and Matt Cartwright (D-8th) have conceded.
The 2024 election saw all Pennsylvania’s row offices and the presidency go Republican.
The U.S. Senate race between Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) and Republican Dave McCormick is also too close to call.
