In her testimony before Treasurer Deborah Goldberg, Shannon O’Brien testified the treasurer hired her as chair of the Cannabis Control Commission to be a change agent but then suspended and later fired her because she followed through.
“I did exactly what you asked me to do,” O’Brien said.
O’Brien also placed a lot of the blame for dysfunction at the Cannabis Control Commission on former executive director Shawn Collins, who used to work for Goldberg.
A copy of O’Brien’s remarks were provided by her legal team. Goldberg has not released her decision regarding O’Brien. The two sides appear headed for court.
