Neysha M. Rossi, 89, of Berlin, VT, our beloved mom, Nona & Great Nona, passed away on February 6, 2024.

Born to immigrant parents, Paul Rossi & Mary A. Bianchi on January 27, 1935 in Montpelier, VT.  Neysha grew up in the “Blocks” at the corner of Barre St. & Granite St. in Montpelier, VT.  She attended Montpelier schools & graduated from Montpelier High School in 1952.
Neysha worked in her family’s grocery store, “Rossi’s Grocery Store” located in the same building that she grew up in.  There, she was discovered by Oscar Garand, granite shed owner, because of her beautiful Christmas paintings that she would create on the large grocery store window.  He suggested that she enroll in the Monumental Drafting course at Spaulding High school, which she did and the rest they say is history!  Neysha became one of the 1st female Draftsperson’s in the industry.  She also went on to become a Monument Etcher and worked right up until her early 80’s.   Her art work didn’t stop there.  She devoted many hours to creating/painting sets and making costumes for the Montpelier Theater Guild, U-32 and Twinfield Union School.

Neysha loved her family, her cat, Rosie, art, reading, her flower gardens, country music and the home she had built in Berlin, VT.

Neysha is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Rossi, Robin Gomez & Renato Gomez.  Her granddaughter Raven (Christopher) Campbell & great-granddaughter, Sadie Campbell.  Her many friends, work friends, classmates, theater friends & her cat, Rosie.  Mom was a beautiful person & loved by many <3

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Edward “Deke” Walker, Jr., brother, Richard & sister-in-law Irene Rossi.
