We are the investigative team at Mississippi Today, a nonprofit newsroom focused on exposing wrongdoing and holding the powerful accountable.

We are partnering with The New York Times to tell the story of the Goon Squad, a group of law enforcement officials who abused their power. They were convicted for their roles in the torture of three people, planting evidence and filing false charges. We uncovered evidence that deputies broke into many people’s homes, planted evidence and tortured them, including some who may have been wrongfully convicted.

Do you know someone who was beaten or tortured by a law enforcement officer in Rankin County? Do you know someone who was exploited or victimized?

Do you know someone who had an officer break into their home without a warrant? Had evidence planted? Became the victim of false charges or was wrongfully convicted?
