Des Moines University has formed a new partnership to help undergraduate students from Bryan College of Health Sciences further their education.
With a new agreement, Des Moines University will offer certain Bryan College of Health Sciences students guaranteed interviews and reserved seats in some programs, according to a news release. Bryan College of Health Sciences is a private, four-year college located in Lincoln, Neb.
“This partnership will provide students with a comprehensive pathway from Bryan College of Health Sciences to one of Des Moines University’s advanced graduate pathways in health care,” said Jason States, dean of health care studies at Bryan College of Health Sciences. “This will enable students to better understand health care systems, clinical practices and emerging health technologies, creating a pipeline of highly qualified individuals who will meet the diverse challenges of today’s health care landscape.”

Bryan College of Health Sciences students who meet Des Moines University’s admissions requirements will have guaranteed interviews in six DMU advanced degree programs, according to the release, including doctorates of osteopathic medicine and physical therapy, masters of science in physician assistant studies, anatomy, and biomedical sciences, and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in biomedical sciences.
Seats will also be reserved in the doctor of podiatric medicine and doctor of occupational therapy programs for Bryan College of Health Sciences students, the release stated, who will be selected based on their grade-point average and other academic achievements, observational and work experience and recommendations from faculty.
The partnership takes effect immediately, according to the release. Des Moines University has forged similar partnerships with universities both in and outside of Iowa, including Simpson College and Benedictine University.
“Partnering with Bryan Health reflects our shared dedication to nurturing the next generation of health care professionals. This will provide a seamless transition for students and many opportunities for growth and advanced education,” said DMU College of Health Sciences Dean Wallace Boeve. “Together, we will prepare skilled, compassionate and competent health care professionals, ready to tackle the complexities of evolving changes in health care.”
