Colorado Newsline editor Quentin Young will participate in public events in the Grand Junction area as part of the Above the Noise initiative.
Above the Noise seeks to create a resilient and sustainable media ecosystem in Colorado while fostering community listening sessions. It was launched by Rocky Mountain Public Media in partnership with Colorado Press Association, Colorado Media Project, and Colorado State University’s Center for Public Deliberation. The initiative supports 40 small newsrooms across the state, including Newsline.
Central to Above the Noise is a program of community engagement. Organizers have already hosted events in Edwards, Salida, Florence, Denver and other locations. The events include film screenings and discussions.
