The inauguration committee for West Virginia Gov.-elect Patrick Morrisey has announced a series of public events to mark the occasion next month.

Morrisey, the state’s current attorney general, will be sworn in as the state’s governor Monday, Jan. 13, 2025.

The events that day will begin with a 9 a.m. faith-based breakfast at the state Culture Center, followed by a 11 a.m. swearing-in ceremony on the state Capitol steps and an inaugural parade in downtown Charleston at 1:30 p.m., Morrisey’s inaugural committee West Virginia Wins said in a news release Wednesday.

A complete list of events is available at wvwins.com.

“To mark this historic day, West Virginians from every part of the state will gather to celebrate what unites us, and we will inspire each other for the work ahead,” Morrisey said in the release. “We will fight and win for our West Virginia way of life, so we will once again be that shining state in the mountains”

At 2:30 p.m., the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center will host cultural exhibits, which are free for the public.

With a $100 ticket purchase, people can attend a Celebration of West Virginia concert at 5:30 p.m., an inaugural dinner at 7:30 p.m. and a black-tie ball at 9 p.m. Each of the ticketed events will be at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

While some of the events are free, the committee asked that those interested in attending reserve their spot on its website, wvwins.com. Tickets can also be purchased through the website.
