Preliminary election night results are in, and we’re getting our first look at the makeup of the Utah Legislature in 2025.

All 75 Utah House seats and 15 out of 29 Senate seats are up for reelection — however, 20 races in the House and three in the Senate were already decided heading into Election Day because they were either won in the June primary or were uncontested.

Utah Legislature elections: 1 in 4 House races have already been decided

There are also quite a few newcomers this year after 18 seats were left open by outgoing legislators, including two in the Senate and 16 in the House.

Here’s where each of these races stand as of election night. Keep in mind, results aren’t final until the statewide canvass on Nov. 25.

Results will be updated in coming days as county clerks count remaining ballots and more votes are tallied. Election night standings aren’t likely to flip, however, unless margins are thin.

According to unofficial results, it doesn’t look like any legislative races resulted in upsets. Republicans maintained their supermajority, and Democrats kept their existing seats. Even though Utah saw more unaffiliated and independent candidates run for election this year that ever before, none appeared to gain enough traction to gain even just one seat.

Here’s where election night results stood as of midnight Tuesday:
