Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris won the presidential race in Colorado over former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, according to The Associated Press.
Harris had 55.9% of the vote in the state and Trump had 41.9% as of 8:12 p.m. The AP called the race at 8:08 p.m.
Harris will earn Colorado’s 10 Electoral College votes.
Colorado in recent years has consistently voted for the Democratic presidential candidate. The last Republican candidate who won in Colorado was George W. Bush in 2004. President Joe Biden beat Trump in 2020 by 14 percentage points.
Neither presidential candidate this year expended substantial campaign resources in Colorado. Harris visited Colorado in March to support Biden’s reelection campaign, before he dropped out of the race in July.
Trump held a rally last month in Aurora, where he attacked immigrants and repeated debunked claims about gang takeovers in the city.
