Polls are open statewide today – Tuesday, Nov. 5 – for Election Day.

What does the process of voting include?

Who can vote in the election?

Any registered Delaware voter can vote in the general election. Additionally, you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • A resident of Delaware
  • 18 years old on or before today, Nov. 5.

The deadline to register to vote in the election already passed on Oct. 12.

When are polls open today?

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. statewide today.

If you’re in line when the polls close — stay in line. You still have the right to vote.

Where do I vote?

Registered voters should have received a postcard in recent weeks detailing where to find their polling precinct. There are several hundred polling places open across the state today.

If you missed that notification, you can also find your polling place by visiting ivote.de.gov and entering your address at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, go to bit.ly/de-polling-places to see all available polling places in your area.

What do I need to bring to vote?

When you go vote, you must show one of the following forms of ID:

  • Valid state-issued photo ID
  • Utility bill
  • Paycheck
  • Any government document with your name and address

If you do not have one of the forms of ID, you can sign an affidavit of affirmation that you are the person listed on the election district record.

Can I still vote by absentee ballot?

If you requested an absentee ballot by Nov. 4, you can still return it to the Department of Elections by 8 p.m. tonight to be counted. Delaware will not count any absentee ballots returned after the close of polls.

If you haven’t yet requested an absentee ballot, it is too late to do so. Voters should report to their designated precinct to make sure that their vote is counted.

I need help. Who do I talk to?
