Authorities are investigating the deaths of two relatives whose bodies were found Friday at a home in Newfane.
Family members of the deceased reported the deaths, at a South Wardsboro Road residence, around 5 p.m. Friday, Vermont State Police said in a press release late that night.
According to police, a preliminary investigation suggested that “this was an isolated event involving individuals who knew each other.” Police said that all those involved were accounted for, nobody was in custody and there was no known threat to the public.
Authorities did not immediately identify the deceased. Their bodies were expected to be transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington to confirm their identities and determine a cause and manner of death.
