The Democratic National Committee on Sunday will fly a banner over the Philadelphia Eagles game with a message of support for Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for president. Reading “Go Birds! Sack Project 2025! Vote Kamala,” the DNC said the banner is part of a wider NFL campaign “meeting Pennsylvania voters where they are.”

The DNC also has a skywriting ad reading “Vote Kamala” planned to fly over the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) game at Las Vegas, where it can target voters of two swing states — Pennsylvania and Nevada — with one message. The DNC has flyovers planned at other NFL games in swing states on Sunday that also include teams from other swing states, including the Arizona Cardinals (2-3) at Green Bay (3-2), and the Atlanta Falcons (3-2) at the Carolina Panthers (1-4). The Eagles (2-2) take on the Cleveland Browns (1-4) at Lincoln Financial Field at 1 p.m.

It’s the latest push from Democrats to continue reminding voters about Project 2025, the conservative roadmap for overhauling the federal government that calls for, among other things, passing the most stringent abortion ban the next GOP administration can get through Congress. The Harris campaign and the DNC have linked former President Donald Trump, the GOP presidential nominee to Project 2025, even as he has repeatedly sought to distance himself from the proposal.

“It’s NFL Sunday and Eagles fans across Pennsylvania are ready to sack Donald Trump’s Project 2025 playbook and fight for their freedom with the Harris-Walz ticket,” DNC spokesperson Cameron Niven said in a statement. “Trump’s Project 2025 agenda is a dangerous plan to give him unprecedented power over Pennsylvanians’ daily lives, hike taxes on typical families by nearly $4,000 a year, and give tax giveaways to his billionaire friends.”

The DNC has previously used plane banners to campaign at sporting events in 2024, including ahead of a September Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park that read “Don’t Strikeout w/Trump Go to Bat 4 Harris.” The Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays that evening, 2-1. Also in September, the DNC flew a banner reading “Penn St: Beat Trump, Sack Project 2025” over Beaver Stadium. Penn State won that game 34-27 over Bowling Green.

The campaigns have focused heavily on Pennsylvania in 2024 because of the state’s 19 electoral votes and its potential to flip in either candidate’s direction. Harris will be in Erie on Monday, the same day Trump will campaign in Montgomery County.

The last day to register to vote in Pennsylvania for the November election is Oct. 21. The final day to request a mail ballot is Oct. 29.
