The 2024 Digger Debate Series continues Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. with the leading candidates for governor of Vermont facing off in an online debate. Watch it live on this page or catch it on YouTube

Incumbent Gov. Phil Scott, a Republican, will join Esther Charlestin, a Democrat and Progressive, for the debate. They will take questions posed by moderators, readers and each other. To submit questions for the candidates, fill out the form below. 

The debate will be moderated by VTDigger managing editor Neal Goswami and Statehouse bureau chief Sarah Mearhoff. 

It’s the second of four events in the 2024 Digger Debate Series. Last week, VTDigger hosted Lt. Gov. David Zuckerman and challenger John Rodgers. Upcoming events include: 

U.S. House debate
Monday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m.
Featuring U.S. Rep. Becca Balint, a Democrat, and Mark Coester, a Republican/Libertarian

Featuring U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent, and Gerald Malloy, a Republican
Note: Sanders and Malloy have both indicated they will take part in the Digger Debate Series, but Sanders has yet to confirm a date.
